What is the competition?
Wispa is giving away its advertising space to the fans, so that they can fill it with their own special messages. There are thousands of billboards around the UK and Ireland which have been bought by Wispa, and will be filled with the fans’ messages over a number of weeks from September-November 2009.
How can I enter?
Go to the 'Register/ Submit' page on the website, where you can register and follow the submission process to submit your message. You will have the option of choosing your preferred location and whether you would like a helper to put to your message together. All messages will then be reviewed by the panel and we’ll let you know if you’re one of the lucky ones whose message gets selected to appear on one of our billlboards.
For more details on the submission process you can download the ‘How to submit your message’ help sheet or email us at help@wispagoldmessages.com.
When does the competition open and close?
The messages competition begins at midday on 21st August 2009 and closes at midday 3rd October 2009.
How will I know if my message has been selected for a billboard?
We will send you an email letting you know that your message has been chosen, the location of the billboard and the dates on which it will be displayed.
If my message is selected, can I choose whether it goes on a big one, London underground billboard or roadside billboard?
Unfortunately not, all messages will be selected on a first come first served basis, and will be allocated the type of billboard they feature on dependent on preferred location and available dates.
If my message is selected, how long will it be on the billboard for?
The time that messages will appear for will vary depending on the type of billboard e.g. a big one, London underground or roadside. However, all messages will be shown for between 1-4 weeks.
How many times can I submit my message?
To be fair to everyone, we would ask that people only submit one message per person/email address. However, there is no fixed limit to how many times people can enter.
Is there an age restriction on the competition?
Yes, unfortunately we cannot accept entries from people under 16 in the UK and 18 in Ireland for legal reasons. However, if you are under the age restriction, you can always ask as adult to submit your message for you.
How big can my image be when I upload it via the submission page?
The image you upload should be no larger than 2mb. If your message is selected for a billboard we’ll then be in touch to see if we can use a better quality version for your poster.
Who are the Wispa Gold Panel members?
The 4 panel members are loyal Wispa fans who have been selected because of their longstanding involvement with both Wispa and Wispa Gold. They are real Wispa lovers so we thought they should be the ones to judge the messages that are chosen to run on the billboards.
Who are the Helpers?
These are the people that will bring your special message to life if you are selected and you need a bit of help. They are skilled computer artworkers who will work on making sure your billboard looks as good as it possibly can.
If I tick the ‘Helper’ box, will I get a say in what the helper does with my message?
Unfortunately we cannot take individual requests due to the high volume of entries we will receive. However if you send in images, photos etc they will do their best to include these, and ensure that your message looks special.
What are The Big Ones?
We have 6 massive billboards sites across the country (e.g. the huge billboard outside St James’ Park) .that will host the 6 most special messages, as selected by our panel.
Will I definitely get the billboard site I want?
If your message is selected we will of course try our best to put your message in your preferred location. However, there’s likely to be more than one person wanting each site, so whilst we’ll try our best, unfortunately we can’t make any guarantees.
If I submit my message and then change my mind and don’t want it to be displayed on the website or a billboard what can I do?
Once messages have been submitted they will automatically go through the submission process, so unfortunately there is no way to prevent it being shown on the website or selected for a billboard. Please be sure that you are happy with your message before submitting it.
Is there a consumer helpline I can call with any further queries?
Yes, you can call the Cadbury Consumer Helpline on 0121 451 4444, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
